Event Overview
🌿 Bottle-free event: Please bring a reusable water bottle/canteen to help keep our shores clean.
- Catered lunch from Lava Lava Beach Club, served after the men’s race starts
- Entertainment: Live music, Tahitian dance, raffle, and medals ceremony

Koa
Open only (all three divisions)
Traditional (Non-Koa)
- Keiki: 12 & under; 14 & under
- Juniors: 15–18 y/o
- Adults: Novice, Open, Masters 40+, Sr. Masters 50+, Grand Masters 60+, Kupuna Nui 70+
Unlimited
Open only (all three divisions)
Course & Heats
- Keiki: 2 miles
- Adults: 8 miles (Heat 2) and 10 miles (Heat 3)
Heat Schedule

Fees & Registration
- Entry fee: $120 per adult crew / $60 per Keiki and Juniors
- Payment: Cash or Club Check Only (no personal checks)
- Check-in: Opens at 7:00 AM
- Coaches Meeting: 7:30 AM
- First Heat: 8:00 AM
- Lunch: Will be served to all participating paddlers and coaches
Registration: Registration requires entry of crews in Race Day Live and all participant signatures on Release of Liability form.

Eligibility (HCRA)
This is an HCRA sanction event and requires that all participants are members of HCRA affiliated paddling organizations.
If you are not an HCRA member (https://hcrapaddler.com/), you can sign up by becoming a member of Waikoloa Canoe Club. Visit our website to join with a special rate of $20 per GWCR paddler if visiting from outside Hawaii.
Important: Membership submission must be received by 8/16/24 to complete processing.
Logistics
- Canoe drop-off: Will be available on Friday at 12 noon on Friday 8/22
- Medals: Awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes in all divisions
- Chuck and Emily DeWitt Kupuna Award: Awarded to crew that finishes with highest combined age
