TREASURER’S REPORT – Glenn Leonberger reported our finances continue to be strong, however there are 2 large payments coming due. $15,000 balance due on the ultra-light and $10,400 balance due on the new Bradley for a total of $25,400. Current balance in the check book is $29,734 giving us a balance of $4334. The board also approved $1800 to support those attending States this weekend so our checking balance will be tight depending on the success of the Great Waikoloa Canoe Race.
COACH’S REPORT – Ed shared the good news of Waikoloa winning Division B at the Moku championships. 1st place prize was a $60 Home depot certificate. 8 crews have qualified and will be attending states this weekend. Waikoloa will be competing in the AA division. We had agreed at the July board meeting to allocate $50 per racer attending states to a maximum total of $1800, 6 crews. Now there will be 8 crews., representing 42 racers. Motion by Cliff Gilley, 2nd by Mike Chinquee to increase the allocation for states from $1800 to $2100. Glenn will write a check to Ed Teixeira for $2100. Ed will distribute the funds to those who would like the financial support to attend states. Each person receiving funds must sign a receipt when receiving funds and Ed will reconcile with Glenn after states.
The ultra-light has been delivered and the balance is due by this Friday to Polynesian Paddling. Glenn to write the check. And Marcie Davis will deliver the check to Sue.
Practices will now focus on the long-distance season coming up.
EQUIPMENT REPORT – Guy is going to build the new canoe rack approved by Waikoloa Land Company. Do we need final approval from Waikoloa Land to move forward?
