Randy Anderle

Aloha Waikoloa Canoe Club,

My name is Randy Anderle, and I am seeking a second term to the WCC Board of Directors. In my three years on the board, I have spent the last 2 years as Vice President and representative of our club for MOKU and HCRA.  As such I have represented our club in a professional and dignified manner and would like the opportunity to do more of the same.

It has been an honor to be a part of this club and the racing team. I appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve my club and my community and would be grateful to be re-elected so that I could continue to do so.

Mahalo,

Randy Anderle

Kianni Dodson

Aloha,

My name is Kianni Dodson, many of you may know me as Alison’s daughter, Kalani’s step kid, or the strong young woman who was once a skinny girl with a 42″ length blade. But, I am not running for the board because of my home family. I am running for the board because I see a need for change, and I want to be that change.

As an individual, I began paddling for Waikoloa Canoe Club when I was 11 years old. My second year, I learned how to steer. My third year, I got my first medal. By my 7th year (2022), I was the only under 18 female participant in the Hipa One Man Big Island races for 2022, helped coach our juniors, raced Liliuokalani, and was on the Waikoloa Board as the first ever Junior representative. As a young woman, I find it important to be in leadership positions such as our board of executives because we need more young representation on our board. Our juniors program represents our future. And how are we supposed to grow as a club if we do not connect our juniors to the higher ranks of our club? Our juniors need a voice, and I would like to be that voice.

Outside of paddling, I have served in many ways. Such as student council, founding a book club, and being Kealakehe High Schools Key Club president for the second year in a row. All of the things that have happened in my life have built me to be a strong-minded, empathetic, determined young woman who wants to improve aspects of the world.

I want to continue being on the board because I want to help improve our club. Waikoloa Canoe Club is a part of me. This club has been there for me in some of my happiest moments, crabbiest, scariest, and even most depressing moments. I simply want to give back my love to this club by helping make changes that benefit us all. I hope you will consider your vote for me, Kiani Dodson.

Thank you,

Kianni Dodson

Kimberly Schneider

I have been paddling for nearly 30 years and came back to Waikoloa Canoe Club in 2018. Anaeho’omalu Bay is a very powerful energy center and one of the most beautiful canoe clubs on the island. I would be honored to give back to this amazing sport that I enjoy by serving on the board of directors. My motto is “friends, fun and fitness”. Let’s have fun together!

Mahalo,

Kim Schneider

Erin Williams

Aloha!

My name is Erin Williams, and I am seeking to serve as a Board Member for Waikoloa Canoe Club (WCC).

I have many years of competitive paddling experience and most recently have raced with the WCC Womens’ 60s, Womens’ 55s, and Womens’ 50s crews and have been an active member of WCC since February 2021. I am a middle school teacher at Waikoloa School and have 42 years of teaching, coaching  and administrative experience. My prior experience serving the paddling community includes serving as Treasurer on the Hui Nalu Canoe Club Board of Directors. As well, I served as a Hui Nalu coach for Girls’ 12 and under, and Girls 13 crews. I would like to use my experience to support our club through collaborating together to provide ocean-oriented education programs for our community and beyond while preserving, teaching, and celebrating wa’a Hawai’i traditions relating to our ocean, community, and families.

For those whom I have had the pleasure to coach and teach, I have imparted the na ‘olelo ‘olelo (proverbs):

e i ka ma’alea a ku’ono’ono”–Acquire skill and make it deep, and, “Aloha aku, Aloha mai, Malama Aku, Malama Mai”–In giving love we receive love, in caring for others we will always be taken care of.

I thank you for your most serious consideration.

Me ke Aloha pumehana,

Erin Williams
